Frozen shoulder is a painful long lasting condition and getting the help you need is not always easy.
Every web page you read seems to offer a different solution to the problem.
Should you try acupuncture?
Maybe an injection will help?
What about an operation or surgery for frozen shoulder relief?
As a doctor I find that one of the commonest questions I'm asked relates to the subject of exercises for frozen shoulder. Will they help? Do they make the pain worse? How do I do them properly? Do I need to see a therapist or can I learn them online or from a book?
You'll find the answers to all of these questions explained in detail in my Frozen Shoulder Survival Guide - see the link to the right of the page ... but for the moment, here's the main information you need.
** Exercises do help a frozen shoulder but you need to do them in the right way and at the right stage of the illness.
** If you try to do them too early after the onset of your problem then you run the risk of making things worse.
** If you try to do them when your shoulder is in the stage two "stuck phase" then they wont work.
** Stage three exercises are by far the most effective.
You can learn much more about the stages of frozen shoulder and about the place of exercise or stretching in shoulder pain treatment here.
Don't forget that the topic of exercises for frozen shoulder is only one of many that you'll find explored on this website. Click the links in the menu boxes at the top of the page for more information.
