Problems with the shoulder can cause great difficulty with day to day function. Our shoulder joints are
in almost constant motion but we rarely realise
how much we rely on them unless they become
painful.

We hardly ever realise how much we depend on good shoulder function until something goes wrong.
The shoulder joint and its
surrounding muscles and tendons are in almost constant motion during our
waking ours - and squeezed upon by body weight when we are asleep. So
it's no great surprise that shoulder problems can become quite disabling.
That's the reason I became interested in shoulder pain many
years ago. I realised the damage that was being done to people's
lifestyles and to their ability to care for themselves and their families.
I got to know patient after patient who could not play with
their children or grandchildren. I met those who'd lost countless days
from work - leaving their loved ones struggling to make ends meet.
The common patterns that go along with the frozen shoulder syndrome are not hard to spot with an experienced eye but often cause confusion for the person who is suffering.
Choosing the best treatment option can also seem like a maze at times. You'll find a lot of information on the site about how to get relief more quickly. Many people start with trying frozen shoulder exercises but it's very important to get the timing of these right or you can end up making the pain worse.
